The Freiburger Hut is located at the foot of the Red Wall in the Lechquellen Mountains. The Alpine Club hut of category II was built in 1912 at an altitude of 1931 m. Freiburger Hut is only a 45-minute walk from the starting point of the Lechweg. The Alpine Club hut offers 40 sleeping places in shared rooms and 100 sleeping places in mattress dorms. In the winter room, which is accessible with the AV key, there are 12 sleeping places. The Freiburger Hut is also ideal for an overnight stay, which currently costs €12 for adults in mattress dormitories. AV members pay €8 for an overnight stay in a mattress camp. The neighboring hats of the Freiburger Hut are the Ravensburger Hut and the Göppinger Hut. The Alpine Club hut is open from the end of June to the beginning of October. A visit to the Alpine Club hut with its fabulous view over Lake Formarinsee is definitely worthwhile.
