Göppinger Hut im Lechquellengebirge
The Göppingen hut is located at 2245 m at Gamsboden in the Lechquellen Mountains. The Category I refuge is operated by the German Alpine Association and was built in 1913. Ascent from the Lechweg (Untere Älpele) to the Alpine Club hut takes about 2 hours. The mountain hut in the Lechquellen Mountains offers 23 beds in shared rooms and 41 mattress dormitory places. An overnight stay in a mattress camp currently costs €16 for non-members and €8 for AV members (as of December 2012) The neighboring huts of the Göppinger Hut are the Freiburger Hut in the southwest and the Biberacher Hut in the north. The Göppingen hut is open from the end of June to the beginning of October.
