Bürstegg
“Bürstegg” is the name of an old “Walser settlement” between Warth and Lech am Arlberg. The settlement lies below the Karhorn mountain at about 1715 m. You can reach the ancient settlement of Lech or Warth. In the 19th century, the hamlet had up to 13 houses and a small church. At the beginning of the 20th century the last inhabitants left Bürstegg due to the difficult situation in the alpine terrain. From Warth you reach the Bürstegg from the top station of the ropeway Steffisalpbahn. During summer season the hiking bus runs from Lechtal to Warth and Lech. Alternatively, you can also walk up the mountain. From the mountain station, a narrow path leads south around the Warther Horn mountain and after about an hour you reach the Bürstegg. There is also a graveled road available, which starts at the main road between Warth and Lech am Arlberg — (Next to bus station Lech Bürstegg). The entire hike takes three to four hours. The hike can also be done in the opposite direction. There is the possibility to stop at the Alpe Bürstegg hut or the nearby Bodenalpe hut (at the main road).
