Gibler Alm
The Gibler Alm is a snack station above Elbigenalp. The easiest way to reach it is from the Geierwally car park in Elbigenalp. From there it is about 30 to 45 minutes walking time. From the Geierwally parking lot on the left side of the Bernhardsbach creek to the last houses. On the opposite side of the stream you can see the famous Geierwally open-air stage. At this point the asphalted road changes into a rather wide gravel road. The Gibler Alm hut is from there only about a 1 km walk and it can also be reached via a narrow path through the forest. The path starts on the right side of the gravel road, a few meters after the last houses. First part of the path is quite steep in places, but you can reach the Gibler Alm in only 20 to 30 minutes. A possibility to walk further is the 1812 m high Bernhardseck. The Geierwally circular path also leads past the Gibler Alm. The Geierwally hiking trail leads from Elbigenalp via Kasermandl into Bernhardstal and back to Elbigenalp on the opposite side of the valley. Gibler Alm hut is open in summer as well as in winter. Monday is a day off, except holidays!
