Höfener Alm
The Höfener Alm is an alpine pasture hut in the Hahnenkamm hiking area in the Tannheim mountains. The alp lies about five kilometers southwest of Reutte at an elevation of 1670 m. Easiest way to reach the Höfener Alm hut is about 10 minutes from the rope way Hahnenkammbahn mountain station. With the Lechtal Aktiv Card you can use the Hahnenkamm cable car during summer season at a reduced rate of €3. Alternatively, you can reach the Höfener Alm hut from the valley station of the Hahnenkamm cable car (Reuttener Bergbahnen) in about 2 to 2.5 hours on foot on the hiking trail or in 2.5 to 3 hours on a graveled road. In this variant, you follow the well-marked path and reach the Höfener Alm via a graveled road. The Höfener Alm hut offers its visitors a spacious sun terrace with a fabulous view and a rustic alpine restaurant with almost 40 seats. Due to the short and easy accessibility, the mountain pasture is also suitable for families. A children's playground is also available for younger visitors. There are also overnight accommodations on the Höfener Alm available. The Höfener Alm is known for its typical alpine pasture products, most of which are also produced in-house. The starting point at the valley station of the Reuttener Bergbahn can be reached by car or by hiking bus. It takes about 10 minutes by car from Reutte and about 30 minutes from Elbigenalp. Höfener Alm is open from mid-June to mid-October.
