Café Uta is located about 1280 m halfway to the Roßgumpenalm in the Höhenbachtal. From the Holzgau village square, follow the stream to the last houses. Continue down into the valley until you reach the Simms waterfall after about 20 minutes. The gravel road runs quite flat up to here. The last part of the Simms waterfall is quite steep. After a total hiking time of 30-45 minutes you reach the Café Uta snack station. Who still has not enough can still go up to Roßgumpenalm further. Since the opening of the Holzgau suspension bridge there is also the possibility to hike from the suspension bridge over the Mühlwaldweg to the Café Uta. The path leads above the normal path on the right side of the Höhenbach Valley from the Schiggen to the snack station. This well-secured footpath offers unique views down to the Simms waterfall and into the Höhenbach valley. This route is also excellent as circular hiking trial. Café Uta has been open daily again since summer 2012, except Wednesdays.
