Säulinghaus hut
The Säulinghaus hut is mounitan hut in the Ammergau Alps at an elevation of 1720 m. It was built in 1925 and lies about 3.5 km northeast of Pflach below the Säuling peak. The Easiest way to reach the Säulinghaus is from Pflach near Reutte. Starting point for the hike to the hut is a parking lot about one kilometer east of Pflach. The ascent on this route takes about one and a half to two hours. Alternatively, you can also climb onto the Säulinghaus hut from the north. This route starts near Schwangau and leads over the Säulingsattel to the Säulinghaus. This route is slightly more difficult than the normal route and requires sure-footedness. Many visitors of the hut combine the ascent to the Säulinghaus with an ascent to the Säuling peak. The 2047 m high summit is known for the first-class view over the Allgäu and the Reutte valley basin. From Säulinghaus hut you can reach the top of Säuling summit via a narrow path in about 45 minutes walking time. The Säulinghaus is also a starting point for the numerous hiking routes in the Ammergau Alps. The hut offers more than 45 sleeping places in different camps and rooms. During the summer, the Säulinghaus is open from mid-May to the end of October.
