Saxer Alm
The Saxer Alm Hut lies at 1865 m below the impressive Saxerspitze summit in the Lechtal Alps. Despite the excellent view, the mountain pasture is very little visited. Below the Saxer Alm is a very steep rock face, which is the site of the famous Geierwally story. The ascent to the Saxer Alm can take place via the Parseiertal valley or via the Alperschontal Valley. The former starts at a small car park at the former Seelealm alpine pasture at almost 1400 m. From there a narrow path leads to the Saxer Alm hut in about an hour. The ascent from the Alperschon valley is significantly longer, but the landscape is very beautiful. The marked path to Saxer Alm branches off to the left in the Alperschon valley just before the rear Alperschonalpe (not hosted). Ascent over the Alperschon valley takes about two hours. In addition, one and a half hours are to be scheduled for access to the Alperschon Valley from alpine village Madau. The starting points can be reached by regular taxi, mountain bike or on foot from Bach (approx. 10 km to the Seelealm, approx. 8 km to alpine village Madau). Surefootedness required on both ascents.
