Schwabeck is a small settlement of 2 huts and lies at an elevation of 1699 m above alpine village Hinterhornbach. The two huts are not hosted, so don't forget your own snacks and drinks. Schwabeck is beautifully situated above the Hornbach valley and offers a magnificent view of the Hornbach mountain range and the surrounding mountains. The hike to Schwabeck starts in Hinterhornbach. You can reach the starting point by car from Vorderhornbach in Lechtal valley. In Hinterhornbach you follow the path to Hochvogel summit, which is very well-marked. You can either walk along a forest road or along a path up the mountain. The last stretch before the Schwabeck huts, however, still has to be covered on a narrow path. The ascent takes about 1.5 to 2 hours and is technically not particularly demanding.
