Ulmer Hut
The Ulmer Hut is an alpine club hut at 2288 m in the Lechtal Alps. The hut of the Ulm section of the German Alpine Club is located below the 2809 m high Valluga near St. Christoph am Arlberg. Ulmer Hut offers sleeping places for almost 50 people. Since the Alpine Club hut is located in the ski area, it is also open in winter. In summer, the Ulmer Hut is open from mid-July to mid-September. It is possible to transport your luggage to the hut by cable car for a small fee. Near the Ulmer Hut are some worthwhile peaks, for example the Valluga mountain, the Trittkopf mountain or the Schindlerspitze peak. In the surroundings are also some climbing possibilities like the “Arlberger Klettersteig” or the climbing garden at Trittkopf. The easiest way to reach the Ulmer Hut is from St. Christoph. An average hiker needs about 1.5 hours for the 500 m difference in altitude. The Ulmer Hut can also be reached from the Stuttgarter Hut or the Leutkircher Hut. From Leutkircher Hut the hikes takes about 3 hours and from the Stuttgarter Hut about 5 hours. The access from the Stuttgarter Hut to the Ulmer Hut via Boschweg alping hiking trail and Trittscharte is difficult to pass and therefore recommended only for experienced mountaineers.
