Aples-Pleis-Spitze (Südgipfel)
The southern Aples-Pleis peak is a 2648 m high peak in the Lechtal Alps. The southern Aples-Pleis-Spitze is next to the Aples-Pleis-Hauptgipfel one of two directly adjacent peaks. The Aples-Pleis-Hauptgipfel, which is only slightly higher at 2655 m, can only be reached with demanding climbing in III or II degrees and is therefore rarely climbed. The ascent to the southern summit is from Kaisers. About 1 km into the valley (from Gasthaus Vallugablick) there is a parking lot where you can park your car. From here it goes along the goods road to the Kaiseralpe. From the Kaiseralpe we continue inwards to the first floor below Aples-Pleis-Spitze and further on towards the summit of Aples-Pleis-Spitze. The ascent requires climbing up to II degrees in places near the summit. Lots of loose gravel and brittle rocks. No marked path leads to the Aples-Pleis peaks and there are hardly any visible tracks. However, a very good panoramic mountain. The walking time from Kaisers to the southern Aples-Pleis peak is about 3.5 to 4.5 hours. Sure-footedness, alpine experience and freedom from dizziness are absolutely essential. Special care should also be taken, as there is no marked path and hardly any traces are visible. It is therefore advisable to ask a local expert in advance about the exact route.
