Bach – Elbigenalp
The 6th stage of the new Lechweg leads from Bach to Elbigenalp. This stage begins in the centre of Bach. Here you have the possibility to park your car for free. Bach is connected to the hiking bus network and can therefore be reached several times a day by the hiking bus. Bach lies at the mouth of the Madautal into the Lechtal. The E5 long-distance hiking trail from Holzgau leads past the village to the Madautal valley to the south. The largest ski area in the Tyrolean Lechtal at Jöchelspitze lies above Bach. The mountain railway is operated in winter as well as in summer. In summer, the Jöchelspitzbahn takes visitors to a wonderful hiking paradise at 1800 m. The Elbigenalp outdoor swimming pool, on the main road between Obergiblen and Elbigenalp, is worth a visit. With the Lechtal Active Card the day ticket is already available for 1,- €. The 6th stage of the Lechweg ends in the carving village Elbigenalp. The village, which is the geographical as well as the cultural centre of the Tyrolean Lechtal, is known far beyond the national borders for its woodcarvings. Another highlight in Elbigenalp is the annual Geierwally Festival.
