Bschlaber Kreuzspitze
The Bschlaber Kreuzspitze is 2462 m high and lies in the Lechtaler Alps near Pfafflar. The starting point for an ascent is Bschlabs, a village in a side valley of the Lechtal. Bschlabs can be reached by car from Elmen via Hahntennjochstraße or by hiking bus during the summer season. The tour to the Bschlaber Kreuzspitze starts in the centre of Bschlabs. The tour starts at the Gasthof zur Gemütlichkeit and continues along the access road up to the district of Egg. Near the top haus there is a yellow signpost and a narrow path begins. In summer the path can be partly overgrown by the mountain meadows and the course of the path can therefore be quite difficult to see. On extensive mountain meadows you go in the direction of Bortig-Scharte and you steadily gain altitude. Arrived at Bortig-Scharte, the path branches off towards the summit of the Bschlaber Kreuzspitze. From here you are also on the Anhalter Höhenweg, which runs from Anhalter Hut over several peaks and the Stablalm to Elmen. The path now becomes steeper and the trail becomes even narrower. The last part before the summit has to be covered partly in pathless and very steep grasslands. Once at the summit you can enjoy the excellent view of the imposing arrowhead and the surrounding mountains of the Lechtal Alps. The Bschlaber Kreuzspitze is a grass mountain and especially interesting for botany enthusiasts and nature lovers. The ascent requires sure-footedness and alpine experience. When wet, the Bschlaber Kreuzspitze should not be walked on, as the very steep grass flanks can become slippery and dangerous. The ascent to the Bschlaber Kreuzspitze from Bschlabs takes about three and a half hours. (Photos: Esther Kerber)
