Ellbognerspitze
The Ellbognerspitze is a 2552 m high peak of the Peischelgruppe in the Allgäu Alps. The ascent to Ellbognerspitze is easiest from Steeg. The mountain tour starts in the Steeg district of Oberellenbogen. From there a narrow forest road leads a few hundred meters into the forest. At the end of the road a narrow path begins. The path leads relatively steeply into the forest. After about an hour you reach the saddle level. The next section of the ascent to Ellbognerspitze leads through a mountain pine forest on a constant gradient. Further up at the new hunting lodge path tracks branch off to the neighbouring summit "Wilder Kasten". The last third runs in rocky terrain, the most difficult part being a ridge about 5 m long. This place and also the further course up to the summit require absolute freedom from vertigo, alpine experience and absolute surefootedness. Arrived at the summit of the Ellbognerspitze you can enjoy a fabulous view over the Allgäu Alps. Especially the neighbouring mountains of the Allgäu Alps are of particular importance. The ascent to the summit requires freedom from vertigo and surefootedness.
