Hängebrücke Kaisers
The latest attraction in the upper Lechtal is the suspension bridge over the Kaiserbach Gorge near Kaisers. The pedestrian suspension bridge built in summer 2015 is located below the district of Kienberg. In more than 30 m above the thundering Kaiserbach the 76 m long suspension bridge leads to the other side of the valley. The structure of the suspension bridge is very similar to the suspension bridges in Holzgau and Reutte. The suspension bridge is a connecting piece for a new hiking trail that acts as a side branch of the Lechweg. In this context, a new hiking trail was laid out near the Kaiserer Landesstraße, so that one can walk back to Steeg on a scenically interesting circular trail. This route offers excellent views of the untouched nature of the side valley of the Lechtal. On the easiest way one can reach the suspension bridge of Kaiser in about 30 minutes on foot from Kienberg. From Kienberg, a newly laid out path leads about one kilometre into the Kaisertal and then descends at the upper tunnel portal to the suspension bridge. The starting points in Steeg or Kienberg can be reached during the summer season by hiking bus or by car. The Gasthof Alpenhof in Kienberg is a particularly good place for a break along the way. The suspension bridge and the circular trail are only accessible during the summer months.
