The Hanauer Hut is situated at 1922 m in the Angerlertal valley near Boden. An ascent or descent into the Lechtal is possible via ground, this takes about 2 hours. The path to the hitchhiker's hut starts right downhill and runs along the Angerle valley to Boden. In Boden take the footpath to Pfafflar and follow the national road over the Hahntennjoch to the summit of the pass at 1894 m. On the Hahntennjoch a well marked path branches off towards Anhalter Hut. It goes over the 2198 m high Steinjöchl between Falscher Kogel and Maldongrat. We continue along the scree fields of Steinkarle to the hitchhiker's hut at 2033 m. The walking time from the Hanauer Hut to the Anhalter Hut is about 3 to 4 hours. From the hitchhiker's hut a descent to the alpine village Fallerschein and on to Stanzach in the Lechtal is possible.
