Hinterhornbach - Petersbergalm
The Petersbergalm lies idyllically at 1250 m in the back Hornbach valley. The starting point of the tour to the alp is the mountain village Hinterhornbach, which lies in a side valley of the lower Lechtal. The Hornbachtal is the only inhabited side valley of the Tiroler Lechtal, which lies north of the Leches. The MTB tour to the Petersbergalm starts in Hinterhornbach at the Marzelina bridge. There are also some free parking spaces here. It is also possible to cover the 7 km long Hornbacher-Landesstraße from Vorderhornbach to Hinterhornbach by mountain bike. An average mountain biker manages the 150 m difference in altitude from Hinterhornbach to Vorderhornbach in 30 to 45 minutes. In Hinterhornbach, at the Marzelina bridge, a goods road begins that leads into the Hornbach valley. The path leads along a narrow asphalted road to Klausbrücke bridge, then along a gravelled goods road. The route to the alp leads secluded along the Hornbach into the Hornbach valley. After about 4 km you reach the Drä-Hutn, a collection of log cabins. The route to Hornbachtal is characterised by the only slight gradient. The last section before the Petersbergalm becomes even steeper. The distance from Hinterhornbach to the Petersbergalm is 6 km and the difference in altitude 150 m. The Petersbergalm is open daily from mid-May to mid-October. The MTB tour from Hinterhornbach to the Petersbergalm can be classified as easy.
