Höhenweg Hägerau
The Hägerauer Höhenweg, also called Paul-Scharf Höhenweg, runs north over Hägerau from Steeg to Holzgau. The hike starts at the eastern end of Steeg. At this point the hiking trail begins, which first crosses a pasture. In the further course the forest path rises continuously. After about 2 - 3 km, directly above the Hägerauer Hirschquelle, the path leads into a narrow path. At about 1350 m there is a beautiful mountain meadow landscape and of course a perfect view into the valley. This is also the highest point of the path. From now on the path goes down again and after a few meters after crossing the Walchenbach you are on an asphalted road again. Here you are already in the Holzgau district Gföll. After another 30 minutes you reach the centre of Holzgau. The hike can of course also be started from Holzgau. The total walking time is about two hours.
