Hohes Licht
The Hohe Licht is a 2651 m high peak in the Allgäu Alps. The second highest peak of the Allgäu Alps lies in the municipality of Steeg on the border to Germany. The high light is a popular mountain for mountaineers and is climbed accordingly often. The ascent route from the Lechtal starts between Steeg and Warth at the mouth of the Hochalptal. The path leads the first part along the old main road, but branches off to the left after a few hundred metres. The path to Hohe Licht leads along the left side of the Hochalp valley in a northerly direction. At the end of the Hochalp valley, the path branches off to the right and leads along the Heilbronner Weg via the Wiesleskar to the entrance of Hohe Licht. The ascent to Hohe Licht is via the northwest flank. The tide on this route is 4 to 5 hours. Another route leads from Lechleiten via the Rappensee hut via the Große Steinscharte to the summit. Below the high light the well-known Heilbronner Weg leads past. Stepping safety, alpine experience and a head for heights are indispensable when climbing!
