Holzgau – Bach
This 5th stage of the new Lechweg leads from Holzgau to Bach. The stage begins in Holzgau at the village square, where free parking is available. The starting point can be easily reached with the hiking bus, as Holzgau is connected to the hiking bus network. Holzgau is known for its haus facades decorated with air painting. The nearby Simms waterfall in the Höhenbach valley attracts numerous visitors every year. In March 2012 the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in Austria was opened, which leads at a height of 110 m over the Höhenbachschlucht gorge. In the course of this stage of the Lechweg you cross the gorge over this suspension bridge. For those who are not free of vertigo there is the possibility to bypass the suspension bridge over the Höhenbachtal / Simms-Wasserfall and the Café Uta. In Benglerwald, a district of the municipality of Bach, you can take the Lechtal mountain railway at 1800 m and explore the surrounding mountains. With the Lechtal Aktiv Card you can use the cable car for free. The 5th stage of the Lechweg ends in Bach im Lechtal.
