Holzgauer Wetterspitze
The Holzgauer Wetterspitze lies about 7 km south of Holzgau. With 2895 m the Wetterspitze is one of the highest peaks of the Lechtal Alps. The mountain tour to the Wetterspitze starts in Stockach at the Sulzlalm car park. From the parking lot we head in the direction of Sulzlalm, past the Stockach district of Sulzlbach. The trail continues through the well-known rock tunnels to the Sulzlalm and then to the Frederic-Simms hut in the rear Sulzltal at an altitude of 2002 m. After another two and a half hours walking time you reach the summit of the Holzgauer Wetterspitze. The view from the summit is particularly good due to the height of the Wetterspitze. The well-known neighbouring peaks are the Feuerspitze in the south and the Fallenbacherspitze in the southeast. Another possibility of ascent runs from Kaisers through the Kaisertal past the Kaiseralm and over the Kälberlahnzugjoch and further along the normal path to the Holzgauer Wetterspitze. The difference in altitude between Stockach and the summit of the Holzgauer Wetterspitze is about 1800 m. The ascent to the summit requires absolute freedom from vertigo, alpine experience, easy climbing and absolute surefootedness on all routes. (Several exposed climbing sections of difficulty level UIAA I)
