Holzrinner-Rundweg
The Holzrinner marks a forest path near Kaisers, which leads from the mouth of the Almajur valley on the southern side of the valley into the Kaisertal. The tour starts at the Edelweisshaus in Kaisers. The starting point can be easily reached by hiking bus or by car. During the summer season the hiking bus runs 6 times a day from Steeg to the side valley community of Kaisers. The first part runs along the road down to Gasthof Vallugablick, where a narrow path begins. The trail descends on a considerable gradient to the district of Boden. In Boden, the path follows a narrow road towards the Almajur valley. After a few hundred metres the road crosses the Kaiserbach and shortly afterwards the gravelled Holzrinner-forest path branches off to the left into the Kaisertal. After about 1.5 km the path turns, crosses the Kaiserbach again and leads back to Kaisers on the other side of the valley. It is possible to continue hiking in the Kaisertal to Kaiseralpe. An experienced hiker needs about 60 minutes from the turning point of the Holzrinner to the Kaiseralm. The hike along the Holzrinner circular trail takes 90 to 120 minutes. Alternatively, you can also walk along the national road from Kaisers to Boden instead of the trail. The 3 km longer version along the country road is also very well suited for mountain bikers. Along this trail you can stop at the Edelweisshaus and the Valluga view in Kaisers.
