Körbersee
Körbersee lies at 1650 m about 3 km southwest of the Hochtannbergpass. The lake has a diameter of about 200 m and is known for its excellent water quality. A diverse flora and fauna thrives around Lake Körbersee. The mountain lake in the middle of the Lechquellen Mountains can only be reached on foot. The hike to Körbersee starts near the Hochtannberg Pass at Körbalpe (valley station Salober-Express) The starting point can be easily reached by car or by hiking bus (bus stop: Hochtannbergpass Saloberlifte). From Körbalpe it goes in western direction along a gravel road. A few meters after the start you pass the Kalbelesee. We continue up the hill with a slight incline. After about one kilometre you reach the highest point of the hike and on the other side you go downhill again. After about one hour you reach the Körbersee. Just above the Körbersee lies the Berghotel Körbersee, a popular refreshment stop. It is also possible to stay overnight in a mountain hotel. The hike to the lake can take place in summer as well as in winter along the cross-country ski trail. During the winter season you can ski from Saloberkopf to Körbersee. An alternative route leads from Schröcken to Körbersee in about 1.5 hours.
