Leutkircher Hut – Kaiserjochhaus
The Leutkircher Hut is an Alpine Club hut in the Lechtal Alps. The refuge lies at 2261 m at the eastern end of the Almajurjoch. The Leutkircher Hut can be reached from the Lechtal from Kaisers. The ascent leads over the Almajur valley, past the Bodenalm and the Almajuralpe to the finish. The way to the Kaiserjochhaus goes in eastern direction past the 2549 m high Hirschpleiskopf. Continue along a marked path below the 2757 m high Stanskogel and the 2577 m high Bergleskopf to Kaiserjoch. The Kaiserjochhaus is located at 2310 m between the Grießkopf and the Bergleskopf. From the Kaiserjochhaus a descent or ascent to Kaisers via the Kaiseralpe and the Kaisertal into the Lechtal is possible. You can also descend from the Kaiserjochhaus to Pettneu in the Stanzertal. The 2388 m high Malatschkopf and the 2581 m Grießkopf are two relatively easy peaks which can be climbed from the Kaiserjochhaus. The tour from the Leutkircher Hut to the Kaiserjochhaus takes about 2 hours. Alpine experience, freedom from vertigo and surefootedness are absolutely necessary for an ascent!
