Madau
Madau is a small alpine village at 1309 m in a side valley of the Lechtal. The village is about 7 km south of Bach. In Madau the mountain inn Hermine is open in summer. The inn offers hot and cold meals and overnight accommodation. Several alpine pastures, alpine club huts and some of the highest peaks in the Lechtal Alps are located in the immediate vicinity of Madau. The highest peak of the Lechtal Alps, the Parseierspitze, can also be reached from Madau as a day tour. The easiest way to get to Madau is by bike or on foot. The hike starts in Bach im Lechtal and takes about 2 hours. From Bach we head south along the Alperschonbach stream. At the last houses we go into the forest and the path gets a little steeper. After an increase of 200 metre it gets flatter again. Shortly before Madau the path becomes a little steeper. The European long-distance hiking trail E5 runs past Madau, which is why many mountaineers can be found on the way there. During the summer months a taxi service between Holzgau and Madau and a scheduled taxi service from Bach are also offered.
