Roßkarsee
The Roßkarsee is a mountain lake located at 2120 m in the Lechtal Alps. The lake has a diameter of about 200 m and lies embedded between the surrounding peaks. The easiest way to reach Lake Roßkar is from the mountain village of Gramais, where there is also a free parking lot. The starting point can also be easily reached with the hiking bus. During the summer season, a regular taxi service between Häselgehr and Gramais is generally available. From the car park you follow the well-marked path along the Roßkarbach stream into the Roßkartal valley. The path begins on a gravel path, but soon ends in a narrow path. The path runs quite flat on the first part, the last third before the finish becomes a bit steeper. In this part you pass the waterfalls of the Roßkarbach. After about 2.5 to 3 hours you reach the Roßkarsee. There is the possibility to hike back to Gramais via the Heinzensprossenrücken and the 2047 m high Hirschleskopf or via the Landschaftskar and the Otterbachtal. The way over the Heinzen sprout back requires alpine experience and is not advisable for inexperienced people.
