Stanskogel
Stanskogel is a 2757 m high peak in the Lechtal Alps. The mountain lies between the Kaiserjochhaus and the Leutkircher Hut near Kaisers. The easiest ascent to Stanskogel is from Kaisers. From the turnoff Boden on the national road to Kaisers you go in the direction of Almajurtal, past the hamlet Boden. Shortly before the Bodenalm a path branches off to the Leutkircher Hut. The path runs along the left flank of the valley past the Almajuralpe to the Almajurjoch. After about 2 to 3 hours you reach the Leutkircher Hut. From the Alpine Club hut the route continues eastwards along the Lechtaler Höhenweg. After a short time a marked path branches off to the summit and it goes over the Hirschpleiskopf, a pre-summit of the Stanskogel to the summit. The ascent is partly exposed and some parts are secured with ropes. Another difficult ascent is from the Kaiserjochhaus via the Ostgrat. The summit is known for its good views of the surrounding peaks. Sure-footedness, alpine experience and no fear of heights are required on all routes.
