Steeg - Bockbach
The alpine village Bockbach lies at 1450 m in the Lechtaler Alps between Steeg and Warth. The road to Bockbach is asphalted throughout and therefore very well suited for an MTB tour. From the centre of Steeg you drive along the main road in the direction of Warth. 1.5 km after Prenten you reach the Bockbachtal junction and a road branches off to the left. The Bockbachtal junction can also be easily reached by hiking bus or car. There are several free parking spaces available. From the turnoff, the path leads along an asphalted goods road on a slight to moderate gradient through the forest. Halfway you reach the alpine meadows and huts of Birchetsgump. After another half an hour's drive you reach the bridge over the Bockbach gorge. On the other side of the bridge is the Bockbach Alpine Farm. In the alpine pasture settlement you have the opportunity to try the famous Tyrolean alpine pasture food at one of the two alpine pasture taverns. The snack station to Gamsvroni is a few hundred metres away and is open from the beginning of June to the beginning of October, except Saturdays. Almwirtschaft Bockbach is open daily from mid-May to the end of September.
