Steeg - Holzgau
The 4th stage of the Lechweg leads from Steeg, the highest municipality in the Lechtal in Tyrol, to Holzgau. Steeg lies at 1122 m at the mouth of the Kaisertal valley into the Lechtal valley. Steeg is the only natural cheese dairy in the Lechtal. The Aqua Nova, a newly renovated indoor swimming pool with the Aqua Nova Restaurant attracts numerous visitors every year. Between Steeg and Holzgau, on the southern side of the valley, there is an 80 m high waterfall and a natural Kneipp facility. The Lechweg stage ends in Holzgau, which is called (self) the "Pearl of the Lechtal". The place is known for the numerous haus facades decorated with air painting. In March 2012 the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in Austria was opened near the centre of Holzgau. The next stage of the Lechweg leads over this suspension bridge, which is more than 100 m high. Another sight in Holzgau is the parish church of "Maria Himmelfahrt".
