Vorderseespitze
The Vorderseespitze is a 2889 m high peak in the Lechtal Alps. The summit is located in the Wetterspitz and Fallesing Group near Kaisers. The Vorderseespitze is the eighth highest peak of the Lechtal Alps. Below the summit at about 2700 m lies the Vorderseeferner, a small glacier. The ascent to the Vorderseespitze takes place on the north ridge, the north-east flank or the east ridge and is relatively demanding on all routes. The best base for a tour is the 2376 m high Ansbacher Hut. Alternatively, one can advance from Kaisers to the foot of the summit structure of the Vorderseespitze. (Kaisers - Kaisertal - Kaiseralpe - Stierlahnzugjoch) The difficulty on these routes lies in the II or II+ degree of the UIAA difficulty scale. The neighbouring peaks of Vorderseespitze are Feuerspitze in the north, Samspitze in the southeast and Aperies- and Furglerspitze in the southwest. Below the Vordersee peak are the Vordersee and Hintersee, which are separated from each other by the Hinterseejöchl. The ascent from the Ansbacher Hut takes about 3 to 4 hours. Climbing the Vorderseespitze is challenging, fragile and endangered by falling rocks on all routes. Such skills and equipment are therefore mandatory.
