Württemberger Haus – Steinsee-hut
The Württemberger Haus is located at 2220 m in the Lechtaler Alps. From the Lechtal, the Alpine Club Hut can be reached from Bach via the Madautal or Röttal valleys, or from Gramais. The path to the Steinsee-Hut starts quite steep. It goes up the mountain in a zigzag. Below the top of the building, the path branches off towards Gebäudjöchl. We continue along a cirque around the Roßköpfe into the Roßkar to the Roßkarschartl. Finally the Steinkarscharte has to be crossed and the trail goes slightly downhill to the Steinsee-Hut hut at 2061 m. The ascent to Roßkarschartl takes place in a narrow channel, but is insured with ropes. Partly demanding. Unprofessionals should only walk from Württemberger Haus to Steinsee-Hut in the company of a mountain guide. The ascent and descent from the Lechtal to the Steinsee-Hut is from Boden near Bschlabs via the Hanauer Hut. The walking time from Württemberger Haus to Steinsee-Hut is about 4 to 5 hours. Alpine experience, freedom from vertigo and surefootedness are absolutely necessary for a walk! The eponymous Steinsee lake is about 20 minutes on foot and 150 m above sea level from the hut. In the surroundings of the Steinsee-Hut there are numerous climbing possibilities in various difficulties, such as the via ferrata Steinsee or the climbing routes at the Schneekarlespitze.
